SIX years of colts cricket came to an end at Whitchurch Wayfarers with a win and a loss in their last two games.

Whitchurch beat Yelverton in a tight and exciting match. Yelverton won the toss, and put Whitchurch in. Josh Towl fell early but Charlie Barriball (19) and Barney Megieks (23) scored freely and got Whitchurch to a creditable 78-6 of the 16 overs.

Yelverton also lost early wickets, Josh Towl º6-1 and Dan Poole 3-1 bowling extremely well. B Pearson and J Dowie built a partnership and nearly stole it from Whitchurch, but Ben Hodge 17-4 changed the match and with Charlie Barriball 23-2 stopped the run flow. Hodge took a stunning caught and bowled, and with support from some great fielding, particularly two catches from Will Bennett and a super performance from keeper Tom Jackman. Whitchurch ran out winners by four runs.

WHITCHURCH then entertained Plymouth in a title decider. Plymouth won the toss and put Whitchurch in. Charlie Barriball scored 16 with well hit shots to the boundary, but tried once to often, and was caught. Josh Towl and Barney Megieks, tried as they might against some tight bowling, but were soon back in the pavilion, after that Whitchurch did not get any momentum and were 52-9 at the end of the overs.

Best bowlers for Plymouth were J Longsworth 17-2, R Collicott 9-2 and T Sparrow 7-3.

Plymouth were made to work especially from Josh Towl 5-0 and C Barriball 14-1 and C Hodges 13-1, but Plymouth won with 6 overs to spare, J Cummings (28) and B Colman (14no). Plymouth win U15 Palladium League title. Whitchurch finished third.
