THE South West Kickboxing Academy (SWKA) in Tavistock received a visit from the Martial Arts All Styles (MAAS) representative Alex Murray-Hawkes, who came to train with the students.

Alex runs a number of martial arts classes from Spirit combat, Ju Jitsu to kickboxing in  Kingston near London and trains regularly with 10th Dan Grandmaster Brian Dossett.

He hold's multiple dans in spirit combat, aikido and coaches MAAS as well as being a top national judge for MAAS.  

He said he really enjoyed training with the Tavistock students and encouraged them all to attended the 'Big Bash' in the Guilford Spectrum in March.

Tavistock head coach and third dan Steve Lilley said: 'It was great to have Alex down to visit. It's great to have visits and great to receive positive feedback, on how the club runs and the level of ability the kickboxers had.

'I know the students enjoyed sparring sessions with someone different and knowing Alex regularly trains with guy's who are top level fighter's it gave them something different to think about.'
