LYDFORD Sports field celebrates 60 glorious years and on Sunday 28 April 2013 at 2pm, a cricket match will take place between the men and women from the village.

Sixty years ago, the Sports Field was bought for village use and a ladies versus gents match was the first event held — an occasion which will be celebrated by the day.

Lorna Rolfe, one of the organisers, said: 'We would like if possible to identify all the people in the photo, the gents are wearing ladies bonnets!  We hope to have a display  of cricket archives and mementoes.

Please let us know if you can help or just come along and support the occasion. If wet there will still be alternative plans in Nicholls Hall.
