HORRABRIDGE Rangers U9s attended the recent DJM Trophy Finals event at Marjons, having qualified through the knockout stages over the last month.
They faced Saltash Eagles in the semi-finals and gave an impressive performance to win 2-0, with goals from Reuben Pascoe and Josh Downing-Hewes.
The Bridgers then faced Plymouth Marjon, the hosts, in the final. Although the occasion produced some nerves for the young team in their first full year together, another strong performance built on solid defending saw them run out winners by the finest of margins with a 1-0 victory. The goal was a header from Josh Downing-Hewes from Reuben's cross.
The whole squad was deemed outstanding but additional mentions were given to Jaiden Higgins in goal who kept two clean sheets and to captain Archie Wall for two performances of 'sheer class'.
The team collect their trophy and medals at Plymouth Pavilions on June 13 at The DJM annual presentation event.
