KELLY College sent eleven of its younger swimmers to the Exeter Short Course Meet. The team returned with 20 medals — eleven golds, four silvers, five bronzes — and a great total of 38 personal best times.
Victoria Moore, 14, collected seven gold medals and one bronze, setting a strong PB in the 50m freestyle in the pro-cess.
Sian Temple also had a good day, claiming three gold medals as well as one silver and one bronze.
Katy Miles, 11, produced some PBs throughout the day, culminating with winning a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle. Ellie Pile, competing in her first meet for Kelly College, set some great PBs in a number of events and also claimed a bronze medal, this time in the 50m butterfly.
Nine-year-olds Charlotte Tilney and Pippi Harris also managed to swim into medal positions. Charlotte took silver in the 50m breast-stroke, and Pippi claimed bronze in the 50m backstroke. Nicole Dunn and Charlotte Ray also swam brilliantly throughout the day, setting many PBs, just missing out on medals.
Jamie Brew set a great PB in the 200m freestyle to claim the gold medal, and backed this up with silver in the 200m IM. Peter Ray, also swimming in his first ever meet for Kelly College, swam to a silver medal in the 50m backstroke. Oriol Juncosa had an excellent day of racing, setting a PB in every single event he swam, just missing out on the bronze medal in the 100m backstroke.
