TAVISTOCK Run Project travelled to Exeter on Friday for the Run Exe Relays.

Teams of four each ran a four kilometre leg along the flat out and back course along side the River Exe.

The TRP men’s team consisted of Jordan Andrews, Henry Ware, Adam Holland and Sam Hortopp who finished in fourth place and the women’s team of Rachael Malthouse, Jenny Sabine, Sam Lake and Victoria Moore also finished in fourth place.

TRP coach Dave Chanter, Crispin Chambers, Dan Pearce and Steve Watson made up the mixed team, finishing in 31st.

Adam who ran his debut race for TRP ran the fastest leg of the night before heading off to run Hope 24 along with TRP’s Craig Howells and Umberto Bergonzini over the weekend.

Hope 24 is located in Plympton where runners aim to run as many laps of the five mile course as possible over a 24 hour period while raising money for various charities. 

All three clocked up some impressive miles running almost 200 miles between them. Craig and his team won small team category and Adam came first with a solo run of 106.5 miles.

Brothers Oliver and Edward Smart continued their success at the South West Championships in Exeter; in the 1,500m with Oliver finished in second with another PB of 4 minutes 08 seconds and Oliver completing the race in 4.33.
