THIS weekend was a busy weekend for Bere Alston Trekkers with them taking part in several races in different locations.

Marcia Macey completed the Brighton Marathon in a superb time of 4 hours 09 minutes 02 seconds.

Fiona Maddock ventured away from just focusing on running and undertook the Torbay Donut Duathlon. She finished in the excellent position of third female and first in her age group.

The race involved a 3K run followed by a 7.5k cycle and then a further 2k run.

n Closer to home saw a number of Bats run the Plymouth Half Marathon. In fine running conditions, Jo Vella, Emma and Daniel Dooney, Dan and Cath Mullin, Jon Pratten, Hazel Bickley, Cally Barnes Chris Anthony and Fran Morgan all completed the race. Finishing times were Chris Anthony 1.35.43, Jon Pratten 1..57.20, Emma and Dan Dooney 2.00.19, Dan Mullin 2.00.26, Fran Morgan 2.04.40, Cally Barnes and Hazel Bickley 2.21.31, Jo Vella 2.27.25 and Cath Mullin 2.41.12. Emma Dooney achieved a course personal best by 21 minutes. Jo Vella also achieved a PB.
