ALL the winter league target shooting competitions are well underway at the Okehampton Smallbore Club (OSC) and results are starting to come in.

In the Devon County Smallbore Rifle Association competition, which runs over 18 rounds until the spring, OSC's B team — Ivan Trickey, Stuart Bennie, Martin Elliott, Steve Cook and Graham Spier — is doing well. After four rounds, they were leading the ten teams in the competition, having won three rounds with only one round lost. And this week the team are in the lead having won their fifth round.

After the first round of ten of the Devon Bench Rest League, Dave and Carol Saunders of the OSC are in joint fifth place out of 60 shooters, both scoring an amazing 196 out of 200 — an excellent start to their season.

In the Devon Kyncock Competition, the OSC's 'B' team — Chris Short, Laurence and Stuart Bennie, Grahem Spier, Dave Denford and Amanda Elliott — has qualified to go through to round 2. The winners of Devon then shoot against the winners of the Cornwall Kynock.

A good start to the Okehampton Smallbore Club's winter season.
