WEST Devon D cruised into third spot in the Tavistock Snooker League with a robust 4-1 win over bottom placed Conservative C.

Two up for West Devon was soon achieved with wins from Decieco and Shrimpton (junior) at the expense of a battling Neale and Jago (senior).

A glimpse of a comeback for Conservative C was sighted with another good win from Dodd over May, only for Shoulders to put paid to those thoughts with a hard fought win over Con C’s Davey.

Despite a gritty performance from Jago (junior), it was Murton that proved the stronger to make it four for West Devon.

So it passed that Conserative C enter the Christmas recess firmly rooted to the base of the league, whilst West Devon D surge up to third, leap-frogging West Devon A in the process and within touching distance of the two leaders.

Golf A moved to mid table safety with a commanding 4-1 performance over West Devon C.

West Devon’s Hodge, first on, had no answer to the flamboyant Whitley with a 31 break proving an insurmountable barrier for Hodge to overcome.

In-form Williams pulled it level for West Devon C with a comfortable win over Finnigan.

That was as good as it got for West Devon C as Ruth, Pope and Turnbull turned the screw as Golf fairly ran away with the proceedings to post their best win of the season.

This result showed what Golf can achieve when fielding one of their stronger sides, while West Devon C go into the Christmas break knowing they have their work cut out next year to pull away from the danger zone.
