CONSERVATIVE A won the Tavistock Snooker league with two games to spare with their 4-1 win over Conservative B.
Tom Evans was too clinical for McKechnie to put the A team one up with Cook edging out Dolan in a close black ball finish to make it two. Another black ball game went the B Teams way as Mark Evans just beat Folley.
The A teams Bell and Carruthers made short work of Ewings and Andrews, with Carruthers producing a lovely 41 break in the process. Four frames on the night made it mathematically impossible for anyone to catch Con A with two games still to play, and gave Con A their third title in four seasons.
West Devon C were away to Tavy A with their main man Elliott missing. Tavy's Hoare made short work of Shrimpton with Ryall making it two despite stout resistance from West Devon's Grigg. Hodge pulled one back for West Devon with a good win over Woods only for Hicks to stretch Tavy's lead with an emphatic win over Decieco. The four came for Tavy with in form Grylls overcoming a battling Williams. The win sets up Tavy nicely for second spot and puts pressure on West Devon A, the other contender for the spot.
West Devon B had a good result as they turned over Conservative Z 3-2 to 'leap – frogged' above them in the table. McKechnie put the Cons in front but two overwhelming performances from John Rich and Bath put West Devon ahead. Dodd pulled the Cons level again with a tough black ball game against May, but it was West Devon who had the last laugh with Roger Rich overcoming stout resistance from Hackney to seal the win for West Devon.
