BERE Alston Trekkers (Bats) are celebrating their 10th birthday this year and what better way to celebrate than with the club's 100th member.

Sophie Jury is among a number of new Bats that have joined since the start of the year, which has seen members increase to 112.

Sophie first came into contact with the club through the Saturday Ladies' track sessions held at Tavistock College and which has resulted in a number of personal bests on the track and seen her running improve immensely.

Her first event for the club will be at this Sunday's Bideford Half Marathon where she will be accompanied by a large number of Bats who will be on hand to offer support.
