TAVYSIDE Badminton medley team played Plymouth Life Centre in division three of the Plymouth Badminton League. The first ladies’ pairing of Celine Conley and Olivia Walker got the evening off to the best possible start by winning the first rubber in two games. This put the Life Centre ladies on the back foot and they were unable to recover in the second and third ladies’ doubles’ rubbers when Celine Conley and Gemma McKensie and then Olivia Walker and Gemma McKensie turned the screw by winning both the rubbers in two games.

The men’s pairs found games hard to come by but Alan Berry and Jack Wills fought a hard three ender to take the second men’s doubles rubber.

With the mixed doubles to go Tavyside were 4-2 up. Celine Conley and Alan Berry began their match poorly but began to turn it around in the second game and then took the third to win the rubber. Olivia Walker and Jack Wills were unfortunate to lose in two ends but the rubber of the evening was Gemma McKensie and David Everson who lost in the third end with the narrowest of margins 23-21.

Tavyside Badminton ran out the winners of the match 5-4.
