TAVY A went top of the Tavistock snooker league table courtesy of a 5-0 thrashing of Conservative Z.

The Z team had little to answer the fire power of the Tavy team with all but Dodd losing convincingly.

­Hoare, Woods, Ryall and Hicks had easy wins for Tavy, with Stewart having to battle a win against Dodd to help his team along to 'the whitewash'.

With West Devon taking four and Con A not playing, the five points was enough to see a new face at the top of the league for the first time in over two years.

It was business as usual for West Devon A as they overcame a potential 'banana skin' to wrap up a convincing 4-1 win over Conservative B.

Hawke, Emptage and Heathman (22) had comfortable wins over Ewings, Dolan and Andrews respectively to take West Devon into a 3-0 lead. Conservatives Williams had a dream start reducing the deficit with a hard fought win over Hurford, with a good 21 along the way.

Rich restored order for West Devon with a win over the tenacious Lillicrap to make it four for his team.

On this showing it is difficult to see any one halting the West Devon 'band wagon' surge to their first ever title.
