TAVISTOCK Athletic Club members are busy gearing up for an exciting Tavy 13 half marathon.

The race will be hosted by the club and will take place on Sunday, April 15.

The route will start at Tavistock College and will take runners on a scenic tour of the town, through leafy lanes and pretty villages, cycle tracks and hills before meandering back into Tavistock for a final lap of the athletics track.  

All proceeds from the event will be going towards supporting and maintaining the athletics track at Tavistock College which has proven to be well used by our community.

TAC is grateful to all the companies who have kindly sponsored the event including Active and Co, Mansbridge and Balment, The Bedford Hotel, HSBC, Tavyside Surgery, Western Power and Distribution and the Lamerton Physiotherapy Practice.

Sunday, April 15 will also see the conclusion of the Tavy 13 Primary Challenge, when local children will complete the final mile of this event on the athletics track whilst the half marathon is taking place. 

The club, who welcome new members, meets at Tavistock College at 6.15pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
