THERE was a great weekend for David Chanter’s local running team —Tavistock Run Project.

Its members raced at the Plymouth Harrier’s annual Six Moor Miles event across the undulating moorlands from Yelverton.

It is a scenic but challenging course with various terrains and rolling hills. Ben Neale started the race in strong form and held an excellent position from the start. He also gave the crowds an exciting finish, racing for the first place position and kicking ahead with an excellent sprint finish. Ben won the race in a superb time of 39 minutes 59 seconds.

Also running a great race was fellow team member Rachael Malthouse who, despite following an inadvertent diversion from the race route, ran a great time of 54.08.
