WHITCHURCH won the toss and elected to bat first on a glorious day. The Barriball brothers started well until Charlie played on off the bowling of King. Billy though was firmly in command, scoring almost exclusively in boundaries and added 40 for the second wicket with Tamblin.
Billy Barriball was then bowled by Cheeseman. Credicott survived the hat trick delivery but was soon out also to Cheeseman, who was on his way to 4-10 off six overs.
Tamblin showed what he was capable of with a full array of his shots hitting through extra cover. Wickets continued to fall and a competitive total looked unlikely. Tamblin completed his deserved half century to close on 68 not out. Megicks with 19no helped Whitchurch post 152-8 off their 40 overs
Bere Regis set off with great haste towards their target. Macklin (15) and King (29) soon had 50 on the board. Macklin was then dismissed by Kerswill; the skipper taking a stunning one handed, diving catch off his own bowling. Various bowlers were thrown the ball but none could halt the flow of runs.
Hall took three wickets assisted by another fine catch by Kerswill, this time running around the boundary at deep square leg. Davies finished things in style, with a six to bring up his half century and see Regis home by four wickets with 20 overs in hand.
