LAST weekend saw TAC athletes compete all over the place including Richard Best in his Mynndd 17 mile fell race – a classic A to B ‘grassroots’ fell race – taking in three major peaks in the South Wales Black Mountains.

Thirteen Tavistock athletes took part in the Barnstaple marathon and half marathon, 11 of them in the latter – James Armstrong, Jodi Fisk with a PB for the half, Peter Bazley, Tracyann Cole PB, Soozie Trice, Paula Smerdon, Alexandra Rehaag Kim Beattie, Vicky Hunter, and Ann Woodhouse.

In the marathon was Adam Holland who once again won in 2 hours 37 minutes 27 seconds and giving a good account of himself was Paul Marshall.

The Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire saw two TAC athletes, Sarah Holland and Kate Rogers, run in the Forest of Dean half. Sheila Houghton and her husband Andy ran in the 10k at Exmouth — both did really well Andy having another club record and in the Mawnan 5k and 10k in Cornwall Young William Dax took home the win in the 5k with a time of 16 minutes and Jason Shipton coming eighth with a time of 45.25.
