THE athlete of the month award at Tavistock Athletic Club in November was given to two young athletes.

Both athletes train hard and enjoy competing. Alice Rogers is a modern pentathlete and Sam Lane de Courtin is a middle distance and endurance athlete.

Since September they have both been competing in the winter cross-country series and in November they were both crowned county champions for Cornwall — Alice in the U20s ladies age group and Sam in the U17 mens age group.

Well done to both of them and all the best for the rest of the season.
