TWO crews from the Tamar and Tavy Gig Club have just started their training and preparations for entering the Great London River Race which is a spectacular 21 mile boat race up the River Thames.
The event attracts more than 330 crews from all over the globe. Passing under 18 bridges and taking more than three hours, with so many boats on the river ‘it is a very challenging race’ say Sir John Rogers the club’s rowing captain.
With nine weeks of hard training in front of them the crews are looking forward to the experience. Readers can follow their progress on the Tamar and Tavy Gig Club website www.tamarandtavygigclub.co.uk
