CONSERVATIVE A were on a high in the Tavistock Snooker League as they won their top of the table clash away to old rivals West Devon A by a convincing 4-1 margin.
West Devon's Hall, despite a superb 21 break could not hold his lead as Carruthers fought back to take the frame in a close finish. The Con As went 2-0 up with Evans closing out Taylor as he ran in comfortable winner. The match was won with an outstanding performance from Con A's Bell who's powerful potting was too much for previously unbeaten John Emptage. The deficit was reduced by Rich who produced a good mid frame potting spree against Cook.
Watters for Conservative A had to overhaul a 30 plus deficit to beat Heathman. An unfortunate in-off a potted blue by Heathman allowed Watters to complete his unlikely come back.
Conservative Z played bottom of the table Conservative C. The Z team's Hackney was unable to hold Neale who inched over the line in a close encounter. Battle of the two team's better players resulted in another close frame which Morton eventually overcame Bassett to pull the Z team level. The Z team went ahead with Dodd taking out Jago before, in a marathon session, saw Con C's Craze beat Z skipper Palmer, to pull his side level again.
The decider, and first win of the season for Con C, was taken by Wilkinson, who out scored McKechnie 71-55 in a high scoring frame.
