West Dorset 1

TAVISTOCK's first team lost their first league game at home in more than two years, but despite the result there were many positives to be taken from the game.

The Reds had a new look team with second team regulars Matt Pugsley, Phil Honey, Tom Hanson, Jonny Elliott, Josh Walker and Harry Donnelly all featuring, as well as Dave Langton playing for the first time this season.

The performance shows the strength in depth the club currently has as they were able to compete against a well organised and skilful West Dorset side.

The visitors took the lead with just over ten minutes remaining in the first half when a well hit pass was played into the D and deflected into the goal at the back post.

Both teams created chances in the second half but the home side were able to keep the visitors out thanks to some excellent goal keeping from Matt Pugsley and some superb last ditch defending from the back line of Honey, Hanson, Marchant, Hutchings and Rory Carr looking composed in an unfamiliar centre back position.
