OKEHAMPTON Cycle Club's summer ten-mile time trial series got off to a good start on Tuesday, May 7 with 19 riders lining up to ride.
Despite blustery conditions a number of riders recorded personal best times on the hilly course that follows the old A30 west from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back.
Fastest rider on the night was Robin Brew, of Tavistock Wheelers, in a time of 25 minutes 42 seconds, narrowly beating Okehampton CC's.Tim Mitchell, last year's series winner, and Chris Knott.
Fourteen-year-old Emily Attfield was the fastest lady rider.
