YOUNG riders from Tavistock Wheelers won both the Youth A boys and girls' race at the Ilton circuit in Somerset at the end of the month.

Peter Jarman won the boys' race by some distance, aided by some work from Jordan Channon, who ensured the chasing pack of more than 20 riders could not catch him.

Tavistock Wheelers also had Matt Ambrose and Stanley Barker in the race, both of whom showed great promise for next year's races

Emily Attfield, who the week previous had represented the South West at the School Games, won the girls' race, against strong competition.

Tavistock Wheelers has become one of the top South West clubs for young riders.
