IN the Cornwall and Devon County Championships Tavistock Athletic Club members featured strongly in both events with a clutch of medals, personal bests and club records. 

At the Cornwall Championships at Par U13 boy Dan Paton took gold in his 75m hurdles achieving a club record along the way. Charlie Shipton threw 12.74m to win silver in the U15 boy hammer competition.

U15 girl Sian Temple ran a blistering 3,000m run winning gold and breaking the club record too. Jasmine Gray made it a Tavistock 1-2 coming home second in the same event.

Sam Lane De Courtin won the U17 men's steeplechase with another club record to add to his tally. U17 Patrick Channings also cruised to victory in the 400m, taking a silver in the 200m. Grace Middleton earned silvers in the U17 woman's 80m hurdles and high jump. Tess Masselink took two golds in the high jump and 800m.

The Devon County Championships were staged at Exeter Arena.

Freddie Williams bagged a silver in the U13 boys 100m as did Olivia Kinnear in the U13 girls race of the same distance. Jenny Milburn stormed home to two golds in the U13 girl's 600m and 1200m races — creating two new club records. In the 1,200m race Natasha Farrington came a fourth while Johnnie Williams took bronze in the U15 boys 80m hurdles as did Harry Herdman in the 300m race.

Francesca Herdman came fifth in the U15 girls 200m and fifth in the 300m race which was won by Jade Kinsey. Molly Rickwood was third in the 300m race and sixthh in the 800m. Emily Attfield competed in the 3,000m race finishing fourth.

Lily Mills won gold in the the U15s girls shot putt, discus and javelin. Will Dax came fifth and seventh in the 1,500m and 400m races. U20 man Dean Smith took an excellent silver in the 800m while there were silvers for Adam Tofield in the 400m and 800m races.
