FOLLOWING the successful re-opening of the newly refurbished Tavistock Squash Club and the recent visit by professional squash and racketball players, members of the club undertook a 24 hour ‘squash-a-thon’ to raise money to buy a defibrillator for the club.

From 2pm on August 29 to 2pm the next day members played squash or racketball for at least two hours at a time, aiming to raise around £2,000 through sponsorship and donations.

Forty two members took part and special mention should be made of Paddy Kerr, Karl Meyerhoff, Will Westlake, Steve Luxton and Richard Davis who played throughout the night. The club thanked Nigel Eadie and The Original Pasty House who supplied a hamper of food to keep the players going through the night.
