SPOONERS Pony Club achieved superb results when competing at the Area Dressage Competition held at Chyverton on Sunday.

The intermediate team of Lily Spry (Mollie Malone), Kelcey Pillage (Master Mayhem), Verity Moorhouse (Midnight Grey) and India Lewis (Shaemus) won first place and have qualified for the National Pony Club intermediate championships at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire in August.  

Lily Spry came third individually in her arena with a superb score of 70%. The team also gained second in tack and turnout.

The same team also came second in the area intermediate showjumping at the Duchy College, Stoke Climsland the previous weekend.

The girls are now thrilled to be representing Area 16 and the Spooners Pony Club at the National Championships. They thank Jenny Radmore,

Chris Johnson and Lucy Cox for all their hard work with the team over the past few years.

The first competing novice team of Jess Harrison (Free to Choose), Maddy Lewis (Fleetwater Warrior), Emma Manton (Mick Dundee) and Amelia Jeans (Dolly Mixture II) won fourth place in the novice area dressage. The team also won second in tack and turnout.

Maddy Lewis was fifth individually in her arena on a score of 65.6%.

Emma Manton was second individually in her arena on a score of 68.4% and has also gained an individual place at the NPC novice championships at Kelsall Hill, Cheshire in August.

The second competing Novice Team of Elsa Kent (Macquino), Emily Harland (Kittomer Mist) and Samantha Underwood (Moneke) were fifth place in the tack and turnout with Elsa fifth Individually in her arena on a score of 68.33%.

Young Abi Webster competing for the first time in the Junior area dressaget and rode a very polished test, narrowly missed a placing.

The intermediate team and Emma Manton are all thrilled to be representing Area 16 at the Pony Club Championships in August.
