ON Sunday there was an excellent turnout for Tavistock Specials against the Police.

With Harry Sharp up front and Jack and Jake midfield with Bobby Upham in support the Specials soon saw the visitors the Police on the back foot.

The safe hands of Ben and the defending of Thomas and Anna were superb.

Tom Hammond scored twice in the first half but goals from Jake evened the score line.

The game went into extra time and on a penalty shoot out the Specials won hands down, with Ben Bernard saving everything that was fired at him.

A number of other friendlies were played but with the Specials subbing every 10 minutes the Police were beginning to flag. With old players back like Kieron, Ryan and Alex the Police had no chance and with Thomas, Simon, Sean, Trig, Reece, Ian, Steph and others all waiting to go on the Police had to concede.

Allen Lewis said a big thank you to PC Cathy Veale and the Police side for providing a great game.

Anyone liking to join the Specials go to the all-weather pitch at Tavistock College at 6pm on Fridays. All ages welcome.
