IN a close game from the start in the Okehampton Ladies Netball League

with both teams evenly matched Honeybees just overcame Sparks by 21-17.

Without some of their regular players Sparks took a while to settle. However, Jo Drake playing at centre, put in a great performance around the court and Sparks used this to their advantage. There was nothing to choose between the teams for most of the game but Honeybees played some good calm netball and edged into the lead. Sparks rallied and pulled it back; however, a late flurry of goals saw Honeybees take the match by four goals.

Other results: Dodgers 42 Speedwells 38; Falcons 67 Hawks Tor 21 and Storm 28 Halwill Hurricanes 22.

THE Okehampton Junior netball league saw two matches this week giving the girls chance to further  their game following the recent coaching sessions.

Jems once again proved the quality of their  play against their younger competitors, Gummy Bears, resulting in a 30-3 win, with the Bears giving a spirited  defence.

Players of match for Jems was Rebecca Eustace and for Gummy Bears, Molly Cooper.

The Rocketts also won their game against Smarties 19-1. In a game demonstrating  improvement in both teams it would have been a closer goal difference had the  Smarties not been a player down.

Pom for Rocketts was Amelia Nye and for Smarties Sophie Luddington.
