TEAMS from Exbourne, Bridestowe, Lydford, Highampton, Lew Trenchard, Northlew and Boasley Cross took part in the annual Boasley Cross small Schools’ Cross Country competition – organised by OCRA.

Year 3/4 races were first with Exbourne runner Neve Webber leading the girls’ home, followed by Erin Moys and Honey Holden of Boasley Cross. Exbourne also won the girls’ team event. Boasley Cross were second and Highampton third.

Boasley Cross had the first two runners home in the boys race. Charlie Davy led the way with Elliot Woods runner-up and Conor Peryer of Lewtrenchard third. Boasley Cross won the boys’ team event, Exbourne were second and Northlew third.

Holly Cole of Lew Trenchard won the year 5/6 girls race for the second year in a row. Alice Oldland of Boasley Cross was second and Amy Perkins of Bridestowe was third. The girls’ team race was won by Bridestowe, runners up were Exbourne and Lew Trenchard were third.

The boys’ race was also won for the second time by Thomas Perkins of Bridestowe. He was followed by Oliver Braithwaite-Smith and Corey Simmons of Lydford. Lydford won the team event, Exbourne were second and Bridestowe third.

The overall winners of the annual shield for the highest placed year 5/6 school were Bridestowe.

The setting was beautiful, the weather was kind and many happy faces were to be seen.

‘A special thank you to the FOBCS (Friends of Boasley Cross School) for putting on refreshments afterwards back at school! We are all looking forward to next year already.’
