ON a warm and sunny Saturday, Yelverton and Barnstaple and Pilton battled it out in the Devon Second C.

Yelverton seconds scored 92 with the pick of the Barnstaple and Pilton bowlers J Russell 2-22, S Cole 3-28, J Roe 2-6.

In reply the North Devon side with 93-4 — thanks mostly to R Holm on 52 not out.

Barnstaple and Pilton (18 points) beat Yelverton (two points) by six wickets.
