South Molton U16s 0
Okehampton U16s 67
THE game turned in to a rout at Pathfields as the visitors went on a veritable try-fest and to use a boxing analogy, the referee stopped the contest early to save further punishment.
Conor Stevens started proceedings with the first of his three tries and Okehampton were never to look back.
The scoreboard was kept ticking over with increasing regularity as the procession of tries continued.
Lewis Taylor also helped himself to a hat-trick as did Oli Francis with Frank Smith and Ben Sharp claiming one apiece.
Six of the eleven tries were converted, four by Jack Davey and two by Lewis Taylor who finished with a personal haul of 19 points.
The only negative from the game was a sin-binning for Davey who was alleged to have thrown a punch.
The team had learned from mistakes made the previous week albeit against weaker opposition but it certainly gives the coaches plenty to work with as the retention of possession and the ball recycling were much improved as the whole side gelled to put South Molton to the sword.
There will be tougher games this season but the foundations have been laid for a successful season.
