DOZENS of children took part in the Tavistock Schools Swimming Gala organised by Sheila Radgick on behalf of Tavistock Swimming Club and sponsored by Fusion, Meadowlands.

Held at Meadowlands Leisure pool, eight Primary Schools from the area took part.

The most sporting team with the best team spirit on the day was Whitchurch School who won the fair play award.

Winner of the large schools’ section was Tavistock, with St Peter’s coming second and St Andrew’s third.

In the small schools’ category, Mary Tavy and Brentor came first, Milton Abbot came second, and Lamerton third.

The event was a great success due to the excellent work from the Tavistock Swimming Club volunteers.
