LADY Modiford's, Meavy, Milton Abbot and Mary Tavy and Brentor primary schools enjoyed free tennis and cricket sessions, provided by OCRA coaches, through the Active Villages Project.

Josh Brown, assisted by Dan Luffman, of Tavistock Tennis Club visited Meavy and Mary Tavy and Brentor schools for six weeks to provide some after school tennis coaching. A great time was had by all.

Milton Abbot and Lady Modiford's, Walkhampton opted for an after school kwik cricket club and Clive Marais from Lewdown Cricket Club and OCRA led these sessions, again assisted by Dan Luffman.

Simon Invest, assistant professional at Tavistock Golf Club, has also been into schools running tri-golf sessions, again funded by the Active Village Project. He is hoping to hold a Primary Schools Tri-Golf Challenge during the autumn term of the new school year.

Sports kit bags were also presented to Meavy, Lady Modiford's, Gulworthy, Whitchurch and Mary Tavy and Brentor schools, using funding from the project, which included racquets, bats, nets, balls and other equipment to enable further participation in the sports the Active Villages Project coaches had taken into the schools over the last two years.
