TAVISTOCK Athletic Club had a turnout of 25 athletes at the ‘Six Moor Miles’ race on Sunday. The race is part of the Armada Athletics Grand Prix series and is organised by Plymouth Harriers and is hugely popular with 338 taking part this year.

The race starts and finishes at Yelverton and heads across open moorland for approximately 2.5 miles running parallel with the A386 towards Tavistock before turning to the sw and running parallel to the river Walkham. Then a couple of dog legs before the long climb back to the start. Its this section of the course between four and six miles that is the real test of strength for the runners before the long flat run in.

Overall winner was Tavistock AC (and Tavy Run Project trained) Ben Neale who outsprinted Marc Smerdon from East Cornwall Harriers.
