KEEN long distance runner, and former Tavistock resident, Adam Holland is celebrating the news that he is now an official world record holder.
Adam has been officially recognised as the world record holder for completing ten marathons in ten days in the fastest ever time.
No stranger to beating other people’s records on long distances, Adam actually broke the record in 2017 while running the Brathay 10 in 10 in the Lake District.
He set about trying to get the official recognition for breaking the record at the time but with long waits between replies and a huge amount of paperwork, Adam was only told last week that he was officially the world record holder.
He will not find out until the Guinness World Records book comes out at the end of the year whether he will make made it on to the famous pages.
Adam, who grew up in Tavistock but now lives in Somerset, is now busy training to take on 20 marathons in 20 days in April, for which he also hopes to set a new record.
