THE start of the new season saw the young Okes welcome Cullompton to Oaklands, in their first Fishermens League game. 

Okehampton started strongly, winning great line out ball in the first minute of the game to see Saul Holliday open the scoring.  They kept up the pressure on the visitors and were rewarded five minutes later with a quickly taken penalty, seeing Will Cunningham cross the line.  Cullompton gathered themselves, replying with three well taken tries before half time, despite some staunch tackling from the home side. 

The visitors came out all guns blazing in the second half, running in another five tries.  Okehampton did add to their points tally with a try scored by Joshua Burgoyne, from a quickly taken penalty. 

Despite the scoreline, the young Okes played spells of good rugby, but have a few things to work on in training before another tough match next week away to Teignmouth.
