TAVISTOCK Rugby Club has already started their preparation for the 2017/2018 season.

Touch rugby sessions are being held on Tuesday nights from 7pm-8.30pm until the start of formal pre-season training on Tuesday, July 4.

The club will train on Tuesdays and Thursdays, weekly, throughout the season. This year the club has retained the services of Nick Lane of NLFitness and Jamie Turpin of Tavistock Physio Clinics to work on the squad’s strength and conditioning during pre-season.

Mark ‘Hammy’ Kerswill and Will Reed will remain coaching the senior squad while Adrian Cameron takes over as the Colts’ coach.

The club has a thriving social atmosphere and have recently returned from their senior tour to Twickenham for the Premiership final.

Upcoming events see Tavistock RFC take to the football field against Lamerton FC, the oche to throw some darts at Tavistock Cricket Club and the cricket pitch against Whitchurch Cricket Club as well as the club juniors and seniors merging to enter a float in the Tavistock Carnival.

The first XV have a full fixture list in the Devon/Cornwall League while the second XV are part of the Armada League (Plymouth Combi-nations) and have entered both the Lockie and Ellis Cups.

Both squads are eager to recruit more members for the season, regardless of experience or standard. For further details contact [email protected] or search for the club’s pitchero website online.
