TAVISTOCK travelled to their nearest rivals Plymouth Argaum and will regret not making the most of the first half elements and slope being in their favour.
The Moorlanders lost the toss and were given the slope in the first half. This was utilised well in the first 15 minutes where Tavistock dominated both territory and possession. Some good defence from Argaum did see the scores remain level. After numerous phases In midfield Tavistock were awarded a penalty for a high tackle and kicked deep into the Argaum half. A well constructed lineout saw veteran Andrew Griffiths bundle over from close range.
Tavistock held strong for the next period but found themselves defending for the remaining half. Eventually the wall broke and Argaum went over for a converted try on half time.
The second half proved a much different affair when the heavens opened and torrential rain lasted the whole half. With this leading to many handling errors, Tavistock could not create enough chances against a well formed Argaum defence. A late penalty pulled Argaum away and despite few opportunities Tavistock could not cross the whitewash.
