RORY and Lamorna Cox from Buckland Monachorum were both proud to represent Great Britain in the UIPM laser run world championships, after qualifying at national championships back in June in Solihull.

The championships were held in Budapest in Hungary at the beginning of the month with 54 Nations taking part.

Rory, aged 11, of Tavistock College competed in the boys under 13s.  Lamorna, nine, from St Andrew’s School was in the girls’ U11s and the mixed relay in the running and shooting competition..

Both competitors put in great performances, recording faster times than at the qualifiers. Lamorna along with her teammates managed to claim a team bronze for Great Britain.
