RENTAFFORD knew they were going to be in for a tough match against longstanding rivals LOM.

Sophie Jury put Ford on the score board first. Jodie Brent made an excellent intercept but the attack were unable to feed it to the shooters. LOM had three missed chances before they found the net.

Kate Bourn missed a long shot but picked up the rebound to score. Gemma Cole then made a great tip but Ford could not convert, which made it 5-5 after the first quarter.

No changes were made by either team. The next two goals went on centre passes. Brent and Toni Dustan worked together in defence and forced the opposition to make errors.

Helen Veness provided the attack with good feeds into the circle, with the LOM defence all over Bourn and Jury. Karen Channon from the centre third found Bourn in the circle and she shot from distance. Another great feed in to Bourn, this time by Brent made it a great quarter by Ford, who led 15-10.

In the third LOM converted off Ford’s centre pass but the home side got it back after Brent won a toss up and Jury converted. Bourn was now shooting from all angles and had a shot disallowed for being outside the circle to make it 23-20

Ford’s centre court players swapped as Cole was tiring at centre. Channon went to WA, Veness to WD and player of the match Gemma Cole to centre.

In the fourth LOM scored first but Dusan picked up every rebound up while Brent and Veness both made intercepts as Rentafford went on to win.
