DJM U16s Rodney

Efford Youth U16s 1

Horrabridge Rangers U16s 2

BOTH teams started the game well playing some good passing football.

Horrabridge opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Harry Eaton's corner was headed home by Aaron Johnson; five minutes later the visitors doubled their lead when Max Burgess reacted quickest to a lose ball in the home penalty area and smashed the ball home.

Efford reduced the visitors' lead just on the stroke of half time when Francis scored from 16 yards with a superb strike.

The second half was purely one way traffic as Efford used the slope to good affect and dominated play for the majority of the half but found the Horrabridge defence outstanding with centre-backs Will Glanville and Aaron Johnson outstanding. When Efford did manage a way past the resilient Rangers' defence, they found keeper Ollie Cox in superb form as he made several smart saves to deny Francis, Elliot and Pressley.

In the final 10 minutes Efford pounded away but the visitors held on for a superb three points. Player of the match was Will Glanville.
