Horrabridge Rangers 2

HORRABRIDGE ended the season on a high with three points. The visitors started brightly and were passing the ball with real quality, especially Harry Eaton and Charley Dawson.

Rangers opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Max Burgess chased a long ball down which put the Parkway keeper under pressure, resulting in him scuffing the ball to Courtney Fry who made no mistake in superbly chipping him from 30 yards.

Horrabridge then lost Dawson to a serious injury but credit to the team who continued to play good, composed football. They doubled their lead on 25-minutes when player of the match Harry Eaton's pin-point free-kick was swept home at the back post by Glen Fuller.

The home side applied pressure on the Rangers' goal but Jack Northam and Aaron Johnson at the heart of the visitors' defence were in outstanding form and aided by commanding goalkeeping by Taylor Kingham, the team never looked in real danger of conceding.

The second half became a much more open game. Parkway looked to be getting on top but the introduction of both Keir Murphy and Ben Hughes for Horrabridge was vital as both players were outstanding defensively.

Fearghas Powell and the hard working Max Burgess for Rangers both drawing good saves from the home keeper and Sam Ryder's blistering 25-yard screamer just sailing over the home crossbar.

With 15 minutes to go Parkway's Nile scored from close range but Rangers held on for all three points.
