FOOTBALL and fun were the match of the day earlier this month at Fillace Park, Horrabridge — all for a good cause. An U12s football tournament was held on behalf of CLIC Sargent to raise funds and awareness. As well as the football, families were treated to a barbecue, crockery smash, bric-a-brac, bouncy castle and a larger than life 'beat the goalie'. All added to the fun. The day was held in memory of Daniel Bruce, who died suffering from leukaemia two years ago aged just 10. His twin brother James still plays for the Horrabridge FC U12s, who helped organise the event. Local businesses contributed prizes to a successful raffle and the total amount raised, including donations, was a splendid £1,886.35.
