NINE teams from Horrabridge, Whitchurch, Meavy, Lamerton, St Andrew’s and St Peter’s took part in the annual Tavistock area primary schools high 5 netball festival, held at Tavistock College. The college supplied able and enthusiastic young leaders to umpire and score the event.

This was second time lucky as the original date at the beginning of November was wet and windy. This time it was cold but bright and the courts were in good condition for some exciting netball matches.

Horrabridge A emerged as the winners, not losing any games in the process, with Whitchurch A coming second. The other two qualifiers for the OCRA West Devon finals are Horrabridge B who were third and small school Meavy who were fourth and the top small school. Lamerton were the second-placed small school.

The West Devon finals will take place at Okehampton College on January 17.
