MOUNT Kelly Swimming Pool have several sessions a week for local people to come and swim and these swimmers entered the British Long Distance Association postal swim.

This event consists of swimming for one hour and recording how far you have swum. The results are then sent off to BLDA who co-ordinate the results from around the country and the results are sent to all those participating showing where they have come in their age group.

The swimmers had some amazing results within their relevant age groups including Ann Mason, third, 1,975metres; Corrie Grice, sixth, 2,350m; Sarah Poplar, sixth, 3,325m and Stewart Pearce, sixth, 2,675m.

Other swimmers who took part: Mary Sargent, Maureen Pearce, Hannah Colston, Romilly Cousins, Margaret Gregory, Lindsay Hobbs, Yana Fox, Buffy Rose, Kevin Reed, Fiona Waddy, Samantha Mitchell, Helen De Burton and Janet Hopkinson.

Liz Vernon, Mount Kelly swimming pool manager, said that she was very pleased with the effort and achievement by all the swimmers.
