FIFTEEN-year-old Phoebe Muir, a student at Okehampton College, has won a gold medal at the Junior Inter Regional Rowing Regatta recently held at the National Watersports Centre, Nottingham.

Phoebe and rowing partner Emily Vater, a student from Exmouth College, beat off opposition from across the country to win the doubles sculls event, raced over 1,500 metres. 

Sculling boats are those where each rower has two oars.

They were among five junior rowers from Exeter Rowing Club who represented the South West at the championships.
