OKEHAMPTON Running Club members took part in the Bideford 10km, Sheffield Half Marathon and Killerton Park Run.

The Bideford 10km saw the biggest entry ever from ORC for a single race with nearly 30 members taking part.

The team of Roger Voaden, Paul Crease, Andrew Vernon and Gavin Punchard won the veteran mens' team trophy with Roger also collecting the trophy for second MV45. Emma Sizmur, Katie Littlejohns and Beverley Dennis were the third placed senior ladies team. Jo-Anne Fletcher won her first ever trophy with a third placed FV35; Nicky Pedrick ran in her first race, while Ali Holliday knocked four minutes off her previous personal best.

The same day found Anne Binns at the Sheffield half marathon. She stormed around the route and smashed her recent Bideford Half PB by over two minutes posting a time of 1.50.19.

Fiona Sladen took part in the Killerton Park Run completing the 5km lap of the National Trust's woods and footpaths in 28.58.

The club held its annual meeting at which the chairman of four years, Andy Vallance, stood down. The committee thank Andy for his hard work and commitment.

Alison Holliday was elected as chair with Carol Cornwall as vice chair. Lucy Skye takes over from Gavin Punchard as head coach.
