DESPITE the inclement weather Okehampton Golf Club held a 'three ball two to count' Stableford competition on Saturday.

The winners with 79 points were Nick Redman, Paul Douglas and John Haley; second went to Malcolm Hill, Mark Wonnacott and Barry Coaker with 78 points, and third were Evan Rees, Nick Godfrey and Ian Moore with 77 points. Colin Beardwell, John Skyrme and David Williams were fourth with 76 points.

The ladies played in the qualifying round of the Express and Echo Shield competition which will be held at Staddon Heights Golf Club on September 14.

The winning pair was Lin Atkinson and Sue Stanbury with 29 points (on countback), second was Jane Warren and Sue Williams with 29 points and third was Maureen Howe and Anne Court with 28 points.
