OKEHAMPTON Squash Club’s first and second team prepared for the second half of the season by enjoying a competitive ‘friendly’ against each other.

Although the first team won each of the five matches, the second team put up a great fight, and in several of the games it was actually close.

In particular, Simon Ramsay and Chris Elphick enjoyed a battle at string four, with Simon coming out 3-2.

The first team are well positioned at third in the their league and hope to push on in the remainder of the season, while the seconnd team — although currently propping up the table — showed they have the potential to convert those matches they have narrowly lost into wins in the upcoming fixtures.

It was a great start to playing in 2016 and helped provide much needed practice after the excesses of the Christmas break.
