OKEHAMPTON Judo Club hosted the Devon Open Competition open to both BJA and BJC martial artists.

The competition was started off with the primaries (U10s) in the morning, with local boy Roman Alford representing Okehampton Judo Club and winning a bronze in his first ever competition in the morning.

In the afternoon the juniors (U16s) and seniors (16 plus) took to the mat. Adam Cracker, also representing Okehampton Judo Club, won gold in the senior men's category with three convincing wins.

The annual event drew clubs from Plymouth, Braunton, Redruth, Barnstaple, Torbay, Truro and Tedburn St Mary.
